Therefore, I do have one question about the song which is simply: did those kids grow up to live happy lives? Granted, I recognize that this may just be paranoia on my part, but I really hope the industry didn't abuse them in any way. I just feel uncomfortable with kids being used as pawns in that way. I fully realize that it is meant to be symbolic. Nevertheless, this is just my opinion, and I realize that some people may disagree with me and accuse me of being "too sensitive". Nevertheless, if the song's message is to "let kids be kids" then I'd rather leave those particular kids out of it. I get it that this was a tragic time period, based on a tragic event in real life. I realize that not everyone will agree with me, but if I had kids, I would not let them be in such a place. However, I do feel a bit weird about the children mostly naked who are covered in silver paint. I am also fascinated by the real-life footage of the kids and the soldiers.
